2026 Texas Driver Education Scholarship
Motor-vehicle crashes remain the leading cause of preventable death for U.S. teens, underscoring the urgent need for education, resources, and parental involvement to reverse this trend and to save young lives.
To help move the statistics toward zero, the National Safety Council (NSC) founded DriveitHOME, in partnership with General Motors. This program provides free, research-based resources that help parents guide their teens in gaining real-world driving experience and developing safe driving habits.
In Texas, DriveitHOME is aiming to increase access to driver education for teenagers (ages 15-17) by piloting a teen driver education scholarship program that supports at least 60 young drivers.
